HOLY
RELICS
UNCOVERED!
TEMPLARS
DEMAND
THEIR SAFE RETURN |

|
Grandmaster Vishrant is
outraged at
the Hospitallers

|
VISHRANT
WOLFSHEART, grandmaster of House Templestone, claims that the
Hospitallers of Saint Mary have recovered relics rightfully belonging
to the Templars.
"They have none other than
the Shroud of Turin, the War Banner of the
Templars and the Tapestry showing Hugh de Payns riding double with a
fellow knight. These were thought to have been destroyed in the sack of
Jerusalem. We demand their immediate return!"
When asked to comment, Sir Andre de Montsegur, grandmaster of the Poor
Brothers of the Hospital of Saint Mary Magdelene had this to say: "If
perhaps my noble brother is referring to the spoils I aquired in
Damascus after repelling a raid of fearsome Saracen merchants, then he
is sadly mistaken."
|
|
Sir
Andre continued, "The shroud lacks a body and is therefor likely the
death veil of
Saint John the Baptist. The Banner has the arms of the cross in full
and is therefor an English banner pertaining to Saint George, and the
tapestry I think is a cheap forgery sold at many a caravanserai in
Outremer. I would not want to burden the Templars with such
trifles."
|
|
Grandmaster Andre de
Montsegur remains indifferent to Templar demands.

HOSPITALLER
GRANDMASTER DENIES TEMPLAR CLAIMS - AND PLACES
HIS TROOPS ON ALERT!
"No, I'm not worried about a
Templar attack. They are our brothers in Christ. Such a thing is
unthinkable! Impossible! Still, I hear they're associating with all
kinds of mercenaries...."
Vishrant countered, "I reject this accusation! King Theudoric has
forbidden mercenaries! We would never stoop to employing such scum
whilst true hearts still beat in Templestone!"
He went on to assert
that the Hospitallers themselves had been seen
consorting with mercenaries, "I have seen the banner
of the Black Dogs, a notorious mercenary house, flying from their
ramparts. Its a
disgrace!" |
Sir Andre has denied rumours that mercenaries have been taking
up residence in the Hospitaller Priory. "These are merely are cousins
from Swabia, the famous Order of the Falkeritter. They will be staying
a while, enjoying our hospitality and inspecting certain treasures that
I have brought back from the Orient..."
As both Grandmasters refuse to
budge, their Orders remain at loggerheads and tensions mount. The two
Orders are scheduled
for talks this weekend at the Autumn Gathering in the hope of reaching
some kind of accord.

NEW COLLEGE BEING FORMED!

After a successful O'Day, a new College is in the process of being
created at Murdoch University. Some armoured combat training sessions
have as many as a dozen people attending.
As yet the proposed College does not have a name.

DON'T FORGET TO TRY
THE VEAL! |
| My
Lords and my Ladies, it is my pleasure to announce that the St Basil
the Great Lunch at Autumn Gathering this year will be no mere sausage
in a bun affair. We will be offering a veritable feast - including stew
and bread, pies (of mince, pumpkin, apple and jam varieties), curried
eggs, glamorgan sausage (rolls) and many other delicious treats for the
small price of roughly $6 a plate or $1 an item. |
It
would mean a lot to us to have many of you partaking as this money
will go towards armour, a new pavillion as well as many other
necessities for our currently lively College.
This lunch will be on the Saturday of Autumn Gathering, and I hope to
see lots of you there!

ANEALA GETS HERALDIC
The
Barony of Aneala once more took part in
the Heraldic Melee at Rowany Festival this April. Eight teams in all
took part - which is a bit of down turn from previous festivals.
This year we were represented by:
Sir Andre de Montsegur
Baron Nathan Blacktower
Lord Columb Mac Diarmata
Lord Edmond Lion of Stirling
and several other recruits from afar, including Sir Sommerled. |
The
prowess component seems to have been a tie between the Team Royale
and House Attica. The College of Saint Ursula won the prize for Most
Chivalrous and Best Herladic Garb.
Aneala won none of its battles but we came very close with the Team
Royale and had a great time all the same! |

Mysterious Order
Seen in the Levant
There have been scattered
sitings of the Order of Saint Lazarus recently.
Some have been seen alighting from galleys at the docks at Acre and
more of their bretheren have been seen near the stronghold of Bastion. |
The aims and charter of this
Order remains unknown. There are rumours that their number includes
lepers! |

A MESSAGE FROM HOUSE DARKSUN
Although
many may see House Darksun as merchant swordsmen we are in
fact a Free Company with our own territories and sovereign rights (we
have our own currency you know).
The Black Dogs are the
Master’s body
guard and by virtue of the Master’s favor, The Black Dogs accompany
Kerrick as his “bodyguard” as he is on a “diplomatic mission” to help
“alleviate” the growing tension between the two Orders.
|
|
As Sir
Andre has offered his estate to house Kerrick during this “sensitive”
time, naturally the Black Dogs will extend their duties to include
Kerrick’s host. Any slander of the Grand House of Darksun, it’s
Minions and it’s allies will be rebuked in whatever method it is deemed
to be the most effective.
|
Things Falkeritter
Presently
the Falkeritter are observers at this time but it must be made known
that the Falkeritter have close ties with House Darksun and I can say
that a treaty exists between Darksun and the Falkeritter that involves
the merging of armed resources should either be under the threat of
attack.
