SCA Ltd Board Membership Policy

  1. Authorisation
    Society for Creative Anachronism Ltd
  2. Purpose
    The purpose of this policy is to maintain the separation of powers and roles and to avoid conflicts of interest.
  3. Relevant Documents
    1. Relevant documents to this policy include:
      • Constitution of the Society for Creative Anachronism Ltd
    2. This policy supersedes the following policies of SCA Ltd:
      • Greater Officer and SCAA Board Membership, and
      • Royalty and SCAA Board Membership.
  4. Board Membership
    1. Any member of SCA Ltd 18 years or older may be appointed to the board.
    2. No nominations for the board may be accepted from a person residing in a state which already has two board representatives.
    3. No nominations for the board may be accepted from previous board members until two years has passed since the end of their previous term.
    4. To ensure separation of roles and prevent conflicts of interest, no member of the SCA Ltd Board may concurrently act as a member of the board and hold the position of King, Queen, Crown Prince, Crown Princess, Prince or Princess of any Kingdom, or Baron, Baroness, Seneschal or Treasurer of any branch, or any Greater Kingdom Officer or SCA Ltd Officer position.
    5. A member of the SCA Ltd Board will cease being a member of the Board upon taking up any Greater Kingdom Officer or SCA Ltd Officer position, or the role of Baron, Baroness, Seneschal or Treasurer of any branch.
    6. A member of the SCA Ltd Board will be suspended from the board upon becoming King, Queen, Crown Prince or Crown Princess, Prince or Princess, their term on the board to be resumed when the reign ends.
