Bess was made a Laurel at the Rowany Festival in AS XXVIII (1994), where she was also Autocrat. (And did a damn fine job, despite being laid low by the virus which affected the whole area.)

Current interests: 

Mistress Bess was instrumental in setting up the new structure for the Worshipful Company of Broiderers of Lochac, and is currently its Head. She is also studying for her PhD in Medieval Art at Canberra University; her thesis topic deals with embroidered representations of the Tristan and Isolde story.
