This is a Lesser Kingdom office reporting to the Kingdom Seneschal. Essentially, the Historian maintains the archive that documents the history of the Kingdom of Lochac. The Historian is also responsible for producing a chronicle, that tells the stories of the Kingdom, and making it available to the populace. This office is currently being redeveloped and there will be changes over the coming months.

The position of Historian for the Kingdom of Lochac is a Lesser Kingdom office which reports to the Kingdom Seneschal[1]. The laws[2] of the Kingdom state:

IV.5.xvii The Historian The Historian shall collect and compile materials relating to the history of Lochac, and shall compose a chronicle of this history to be available to the people of Lochac.

The current office-holder can be contacted by email[historian@lochac.sca.org].

As of Spring War AS45 (2 October 2010) the Lochac Historian is Lord Somhairle Mac Nicail, who is taking the opportunity to reassess how the duties of the position are discharged. The creation of this site is a first step in that process.
