The sun was shining very brightly and about 40 people turned up for what was to be a very relaxing day at Sherwood Forest Park.

The pot luck lunch was great with people bringing a fantastic assortment of goodies. Special thanks to Humphrey for bringing the table, Eleanore, Hrothgar, Caitlin, Minna for always being so willing to help and to Bain for his generous offer to run the games (that unfortunately did not eventuate due to the heat).

Because of the heat, no one really felt like running aorund and playing games, although a handful of the boys and girls braved the scorching sun for a game of football but soon retired under the coolness of the trees.

The first Shire photograph was gaken and copies are available from Aemlia. Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable time and we hope this picnic will be an annual event to celebrate the foundation of our group.
