What is a laurel?
A laurel is someone who has been recognised for excellence in Arts and Sciences (A&S) to an international level and inspires and enriches the Kingdom by sharing their knowledge and skills. Therefore to be recognized as a laurel not only do you have to master your art or science, you also have to share your skill and knowledge so that you have an effect on the Kingdom of enriching its authenticity.
As one of the Peerage Orders, Laurels are also required to uphold demonstrate Peerage Qualities. These can be described as supporting the ideals of the Society in their dress and behaviour, setting an example for others, treating all with courtesy, sharing their knowledge with others, and practicing hospitality within their means. (Other Peerage Orders include Knights, Pelicans and Royal Peers.)
