Child Safety Policies – Updated!
In August of 2025, the SCA Ltd (Australia) Board ratified a suite of new policies related to Child Safety and Protection. This work involved collating many different laws and policies as required around Australia. This work was entirely done by Lady Thalia Brasse (Kingdom Youth Officer), for which the Board is extremely grateful. The amount of time and energy that went into ensuring all policies were correct and covered all State and Federal laws is truly awe inspiring.
The full list of updated and new policies relating to Child Safety and Protection can be found at: https://sca.org.au/documents/policy/children/ and includes items such as: a Statement of commitment to Child Safety, a Code of Conduct for Child Safety, Background Check procedures for running Youth activities, how to nominate a caregiver (transfer guardianship) at SCA events, a reporting policy for incidences involving children, and the overarching Child Safety Policy.
The Board highly recommends anyone involved with youth activities within the SCA in Australia become familiar with these policies and ensure others are aware of them.
