Revised Children’s Policies

SCA Ltd (Australia)

SCA Ltd has released several revised policies:

The Child Safety Policy provides guidelines to protect the safety of any child/ren while participating in an SCA activity by establishing and maintaining a child-safe and child-friendly environment and to ensure the best interests and safety of child/ren attending SCA activities.

The Background Check Procedure, mentioned in the Child Safety Policy, gives members guidelines to follow in their State or Territory.

The Child Safe Code of Conduct provides a detailed description of what is and is not considered acceptable behaviour and conduct in and around children in the SCA.

The Statement of Commitment to Child Safety states how the SCA will commit to the safety of children within the SCA.

The Child Safety Reporting Policy provides a detailed overview of what behaviours need to be reported in regards to children and how this is carried out within the SCA.

These policies should be used in conjunction with each other and often refer to each other. The Board of SCA Ltd recommends reading all of these documents if looking into youth activities and youth related incidents.

Thank you,

Nicole Hellessey
